From Summer of 2019-Winter 2019, Naomi Bates worked on a stage management independent project under the supervision of Deanna Brookens as well as through the consultation of Jennifer Keller. Through this project Naomi researched online stage management programs, stage management manuals, SM kit contents, post-mortem processes, and other stage management related topics. From this research she made recommendations to the theatre department and dance departments regarding stage management procedures.

In addition, for both departments she created online google drives containing all stage management documents. For theatre, she put in blank templates, past examples, and other related documents. For the dance department she gathered lighting and stage management documents as well as created a calling instructional video that the department can use.
